About Our Farm

Soggy Brook Farm is a small farmlette conveniently located in Oak Ridge, North Carolina. We have been producing heirloom vegetables and heritage poultry since 2012 and are looking forward to expanding our operation. We strive to make the most of everything the nature as to offer and be a careful steward of our environment. In addition to fruits and vegetables, we also have started production of woodland produce like ramps, fiddlehead ferns, and wild-simulated mushrooms and ginseng.

We raise heritage poultry compassionately and avoid perpetuating breeds that are unable to function without human intervention. We only raise heritage turkeys that can reproduce on their own and can live long, happy lives. We want all of our birds to live happy lives right up to the end. This requires ample room, grass, bugs, and sunshine!

We select birds considering the breed standards, but without losing sight of the breed's functionality. Please come see us at local poultry shows or contact us to learn more about events in our area.

We support agricultural education and occasionally offer opportunities for children to interact with and learn about growing plants and raising animals. We are a proud support of the 4-H program and the local agricultural extension office!

Like horses? We have two fantastic schoolmaster horses right here on the farm! We are looking to begin offering riding lessons and trail rides in the future. Until then visitors can meet both of our girls and learn all about them!
